Geely profit up 7% in first nine months as exports offset home-market pressure

Geely Automobile posted a 7 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit to 13.93 billion yuan (HK$16.39 billion) for the first nine months of 2026, according to an exchange filing on Thursday. The growth came as robust overseas shipments eased pressure from intense competition in the Chinese carmaker’s home market.

Revenue rose 13 per cent to 272.56 billion yuan in the January-September period, while sales volume edged up 3 per cent to 2.24 million units. Exports totalled 797,670 units during the period, accounting for 35.68 per cent of total sales.

In the third quarter alone, Geely’s net profit jumped 28 per cent to 4.84 billion yuan. Quarterly sales volume increased 7 per cent to 812,523 units, among which 323,442 cars were exported overseas, representing 39.8 per cent of total deliveries. Revenue climbed 10 per cent to 98.96 billion yuan, supported by strong export sales and a rising contribution from higher-value products.

Geely said the growth of revenue outpaced that of sales volume, indicating an improvement in product mix and average selling price.
